Eddie Brown JR Bio

I was born and raised in the Dallas area to a mother with Marshall TX roots and a father with Navasota roots. Growing up I looked up to my parents and older brother as heroes. My dad was in law enforcement, and my mom worked for DISD school district. I watched my dad excel with several promotions while leading and inspiring great groups of men and women to do the same. At a early age, I always knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps. My family was relocated to California and later returned back to the Dallas area where I attended Desoto East Junior High School. I later transferred to Reed Junior High due to address of our new residence. I graduated Duncanville High School and continued my education at the University of North Texas in Denton.

I majored in criminal justice because I wanted to pursue a career within law enforcement. During college, I participated in the Dr. Emmet J. Conrad Internship sponsored by Senator Royce West. While interning, I was able to gain work experience with Texas DPS, Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Board, and Dallas Police Department.

A Message from the Constable

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude. I thank God—because without Him, nothing would be possible. I also thank my family and friends for believing in me, and to all who voted for me in 2022, giving me the honor of taking office in 2023. I am truly grateful.

Through prayer and reflection, I have decided to seek re-election in 2026 for Constable of Precinct 4. My hope is that I have served honorably—not only for those who voted for me, but for everyone in our community. I humbly ask for your support and your vote in 2026.

If blessed with another term, I pledge to remain present in our communities, accessible to all residents, transparent in my actions, and committed to doing what is right.

I’m not a politician. I’m a public servant who truly cares about the people of Precinct 4.

  • What Does A Constable Do In Texas?
A county constable in Texas has the following duties:
Serves as a licensed peace officer and performs various law enforcement functions, including issuing traffic citations
Serves warrants and civil papers such as subpoenas and temporary restraining orders
Serves as bailiff for Justice of the Peace Court
  • Primary Function Of A Dallas County Constable
A primary task of many constables is to serve legal documents as required by the local civil court system. One example of such documents is a citation that indicates intent to sue. Property owners use constables to help evict tenants who have not paid rent. Constables serve subpoenas issued by the court and they help to enforce temporary restraining orders. While most of a constable's work involves civil cases, she might also work with the criminal court system. Since the constable is an officer of the local court, any legal documents to be served outside of the home jurisdiction passes to constables in the jurisdiction where they are to be served. If no constabulary is available in that jurisdiction, the local sheriff's office may handle the case.
